Olé at Oddstock. A funfilled festival in Maastricht (NL). The Hitmachine played on a tiny stage, and Bertin did his solo thing inside the compound. There were a lot of odd people there, as you might expect. There was Jack the Rapper, Mc Cambodia & Booty Carrel, Masonic Youth, and La Bomba who played in the back of a van.

Captain Peacock and I (Bertin) made a short trip to Antwerpen (B) to do some shows. The Dennis Tyfus radio show and Scheld'apen. We also had the unique experience to play in this small appartment called 'Geluidsoverlast'. We couldn't really move the table on which I set up my equipment. So I had to play with my back towards the audience. Which was fine. Stefan, the guy-who-lived there and a very nice and friendly fellow, did have some curious artifacts in his house though. He had crucifixes hanging upside down, and a medievil battle axe laying around in the hallway.

Peacock and I both played two sets. The audience was very enthousiastic. It was a very small place, I still find it hard to believe Crank Sturgeon played here.

The hitmachine_-_sinterklaas.mp3 track has been downloaded 1300 times!! According to Ernest, who keeps track of these things. He noticed an extreme increase of data traffic on dec 3, 2004.

In the Netherlands, each year on dec 5, we celebrate 'Sinterklaas'. More or less simular to Santa Claus. Both are based on the bishop of Myras (Turkey). His legendary gifts of dowries to poor children in the fourth century led to the custom of giving gifts to children on the eve of his birthday.

With this celebration there are traditional sinterklaas songs about the saint and his (black) pieten.

The hitmachine mp3, wich many family-man have downloaded, is an excerpt of a recording session that took place on 'sinterklaas' eve and has nothing to do with the tradition. It's a loud noise piece, as we can expect from the Hitmachine. Certainly not suitable for young ears.

Harry Merry is touring the USA at this very moment. Judging from the e-mails we don't have to worry about him.. The tour brought him to California, Texas, Louisiana and Arizona. Harry says he wants to stay in the US until he gets deported.
